Critical Reflection Questions

Image
    1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?         My product challenges the industry of reselling shoes. My commercial in a way represents middle to lower class people in the sense that, what resellers are doing isn't right to us at all. From my commercial you can clearly take away the message and what I was trying to say about resllers of Jordan shoes. It also challenges resellers by calling them out on their wrong doings. 2. How does your project engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?         My porject engages with audiences because, from the beginning, it grabs the attention of shoe lovers by including the red Nike shoe box. For the rest of the 25 seconds of the video, shows other Jordan shoes. It would be distributed as a real media text, mainly, on social medias. Most shoe collecters either have a dedicated page for shoes or fashion that will be able to view my commercial

Shoe Commercial

I had a stressful yet fun experience filming and editing my commercial. As I watched it over about 5 times I cold have done a lot of things differently. I enjoyed this project although I did work alone. Things are always better while working with a partner. I would have liked it to be a longer commercial so I would have had an opportunity to include more. I would have also included different angles in the commercial as well. I also learned that just because your teacher gives you an extension, to not wait until last minute. If it weren't for my peers I wouldn't have had submitted my project in time. Overall I had fun and am excited for the next project.

Editing: Minor Inconveniences

Image
I came home Monday night ready to finish editing. As I opened my computer I noticed that the screen was flickering and I couldn't continue using it. I went to my grandmother's house to then try on her computer to finish editing. I realized that she didn't have a MacBook, so I ended up doing it all on my phone. Luckily, I had all of my videos still on my phone to make the editing process easy for me. I first uploaded all of the filming videos on iMovie. I then cut them and made it look as smoothly fitting as possible. For only 30-seconds I had to cut a lot of extra things out. I then chose music in the background it make it look as similar to a real commercial as possible. It was difficult to do all on my phone but I got it done just in time.  Using iMovie as the editing app for me as gotten a lot easier now that I know how to properly use it.

Filming Blog: My House

Image
On Sunday November 1st, I began filming inside my house for my commercial. Unfortunately it was raining so I didn't get to film most of my scenes outside. I first had to move all my shoe boxes from my storage area and figure out which one to film first. I chose to use my red Nike box that holds my Nike Air Max 97. This was the opening for the commercial. It took my around three times for each scene after this to get an outcome I was satisfied with. For the second scene I used my Air Jordan 1 lows. The way I positioned my shoes in this shot was similar for the rest of the shots filmed. For the third scene I used my Air Jordan 12 Chinese New Year. I chose these to be second because they're easily my favorite shoe. For my fourth scene I used my Air Jordan 1 Mids in red. I have two different color ways for this shoe. I decided to use them post singularly because they are more known Jordans. This is why my fifth scene I used my Air Jordan 1 Mids in blue.

First Scene: In the opening scene, I will show only the shoe box very close up. Shortly after holding the still picture on the box I will zoom out. This scene brings in the dramatics of the commercial. Second Scene: In the second scene I will be showing the first pair of shoes. They are Air Jordan 1 lows and will be positioned on top of their box. This will be repeated with the other shoes as well. The shot will start off close up, then zoom out. Third Scene: The third scene displays the second pair of shoes. Air Jordan 4s which will be positioned at the top of their box. It will begin with a close up then zoom out. Fourth Scene: The fourth scene is the third pair of shoes. These are Air Jordan 1 Mids which will also be neatly positioned at the top of their box. It will start with the camera close up, then zooming out. Fifth Scene: The fifth and final single scene will be of the fourth pair of shoes. Air Jordan 11 Concords. These shoes will also be positioned the same as the first t

Planning for My Jordan Commercial

Image
Props : All of my pairs of Retro Jordans will be the main props. Shoe boxes will also be included as props since I keep them all.      Costumes : In my commercial I will be the narrator along with being the actress. The main costumes are still under works. I believe I am going to just wear my regular dressy clothes, as I would if I was simply going out.  This works best for me so I don't have to go out and buy clothes.      Schedule : On 10/23/2020 I will do a little more research on Jordan commercials in specifics and look at prices of shoes and resellers prices.                           On 10/24/2020  I will begin filming the commercial. This will include my first 4 or 5 pairs of shoes.                          On 10/25/2020 I will film my second part of the commercial. This will include my other second half of shoes.                          On 10/30/2020 I will fim my final parts of the commercial and being to edit. I learned from the previous project that this is the

Research: Jordan Shoes

\   I love shoes, there is no doubt about that. I have around 13 pairs of shoes, which isn't a lot but my collection is still growing. I believe that there would be nothing better than to choose shoes, in specific, Jordans. In opposition to contrary belief, there are a surplus of people who are deeply invested in shoes, and share my same interest. It is widely known that Jordans are a brand under the famous Nike. Jordans are mainly advertised as casual shoes, but can also be worn as basketball shoes, their intended purpose. There are not many Jordan commercials because, it is an unsaid thing that consumers are always on the lookout for new drops. In today's time there isn't a high demand in the want or need for Jordan commercials because of the popularity of the shoes. There are over 23 different style of Jordans, but the all time most sought out pairs of them are: Retro 1's, 2's, 4's, 5's, 10's, 11's, and 12's. They retail all from about $100-25
